The East End Bantam Fusiliers

[The East End Bantam Fusiliers was the name adopted by this group of children from East Street, a terraced street leading off Wellingborough Road, Northampton, before the First World War they had been the ‘East Street Gang’ but after the conflict broke they taught themselves to march and drill, buying odd items of uniform and carving wooden ‘riffles’. The E.E.B.F. visited other areas of the town and also nearby villages giving drill displays and collecting money and gifts for wounded soldiers in local hospitals.]
