Northants English Welfare Society – Battle of Naseby Walk
Because of the recent very hot weather it was decided to set off at the crack of dawn for our history walk today. The late notice and early set off time meant some members were unable to make the start. However the ramble went ahead and was enjoyed by all that did make it.
Approximately eight miles of beautiful Northamptonshire countryside around the historic Naseby/Broad Moor battle site being covered on route.
We will be meandering the same way again (probably early in September) to give those that could not make today’s tour another chance to join in the fun. But giving a shorter walk, picnic choice for the less intrepid members and meeting up on the way round.
Further walks and other activities were discussed by members after today’s ramble was completed. And I must say some of the ideas put forward are very exciting indeed. More on that as the society progresses.
